Letters have been mailed out to property owners who have 2023 tax arrears. In order to remove your property from the tax sale process, payment in full of 2023 outstanding taxes must be received in the municipal office:
Friday February 28, 2025 by 4:00pm
In accordance with Section 365 (1) of the “Municipal Act”, it is mandatory for council to sell by public auction all properties in the municipality, the taxes in respect of which are in arrears for the designated year. This means that all properties in the R.M. of Prairie Lakes which presently have any portion of 2023 tax arrears outstanding must be sold by public auction.
The municipality has retained the services of TAXervice who will commence tax sale proceedings under the Municipal Act immediately following the above payment deadline. It is important to note that additional costs relating to the tax sale proceeding will be incurred at that time.
If you have any questions on the tax sale process or questions concerning the status of your property, please contact our office.
